Praise indeed..feline fine.

Well, our little moggy Furmi (named after Enrico Fermi the physicist - science nerd husband got to name him) has just been to the vet for his second lot of injections to keep him healthy and happy, and the vet said he is a 'fine figure of a cat'...very proud! He is beautiful, but then we are biased so it was lovely to hear that :)

In 2 weeks he goes to have his 'little operation' after which he will hopefully lose part of his Tasmanian devil type playtime madness...but there is no guarantee! Toes, flappy trousers and anything he can pounce on gets attacked at the moment, and he runs at around 1000 miles per hour ;) Now though, he is curled up as I type - helpful chap, tired after a busy day.

Shift work.

My husband works shifts, so as a result my own daily routine adjusts according to his schedule. For example this week he is on late shift, so I begin working when he goes to work, I actually quite enjoy this as it means every other week has a different feel to it, especially now the darkness of winter is looming. I will work, make things and write until the small hours, then start to cook so we can eat when he gets home, a bit of t.v to unwind before bed at some point during the early hours. We obviously do not get up early during late weeks, sometimes seen as lazy by some who have never had the pleasure of shift work! A certain number of hours sleep is vital, whenever they may fall, we are still working while these folks are snoring away in their beds. Lucky to be a natural night owl I guess...different story during his early shift weeks though ;)

Slap on the wrist!

January....JANUARY! Was the last time I posted here, it is ridiculous! I have been busy with my other ventures (see 'other ventures' thingy on the side panel) plus general day to day stuff but still, no excuse.

Anyway I hope anyone who ever reads this is well and happy and I promise to be more productive from now on!

Everyone has snow but us it seems!

So many of my friends are posting pictures of the fun they are having in the snow, from the north of England right down to folks in London and beyond...but here in the middle we have yet more rain...this seems a touch unfair seeing as it is Sunday and I could be out walking in lovely crispy, cold snow. To be fair I wouldn't be quite so envious if it was a weekday and I had to drive anywhere, but still, I do feel a bit jealous ;)

So, to all of you enjoying the white stuff, make the most of it, throw snowballs, drink hot chocolate whilst looking at the view and keep cosy warm.

A good day on Zazzle

Today I wanted to devote my time to creating and promoting my Zazzle site, and have done just that. I also managed to make some t-shirts on there for the Myth or Maxim site I manage, a bit of merchandise for people to look at!

It is now dark again and other work will fill my evening, stopping for something to eat of course, but I haven't decided on that yet, it may well be a game of 'what in the fridge' I think ;)

Hope you all had/are having a fun weekend so far.
Gem.

Beautiful, wild Scotland.

Hello all, I have just returned from a lovely week in Scotland, the Isle of Mull and Iona to be precise - those of you who know me are aware no doubt that I go every year! We had some very nice weather mixed in with the storms and managed to do something everyday - lots of walking, photographing and taking in the air.

I think each of us has a place in the world which is more than just a holiday destination, a place that means more to us on a spiritual level, and this is the case for me. I have been visiting Mull for over 20 years, at least once a year, sometimes twice when I've been lucky, and there is always more than  enough to fill a week. This year is the first time we have been by car, usually it is a journey of trains, ferries and buses, but it was lovely to have the freedom of a vehicle. I feel lucky to have found such a place, to know it exists and one that I will see again.
