TWO days away from the computer!

Well folks, I did it, managed a whole 2 days away from the computer - how sad is that?! Of course, when I turned it on today there were a huge amount of emails to trawl through, but still, it was a break. I hope you all had a great Christmas, the next event of course is new year...I will try to have the first day of 2015 computerless too...just for novelty value!

Christmas and a computer-free day?!

Hi all, it's Christmas eve and I think everything is just about done! The last of the wrapping, cards all out and people seen, so now it is time to kick back, go and see some friends tonight, then eat a lot tomorrow. I am going to try and have a day without the computer too - it is but once a year after all, although I will still have my phone just in case.

I hope you all have a lovely day, peace and joy be with you!

So not ready!

Well I have done my usual thing of not doing anything to do with Christmas until the last minute, I have written and even posted some cards but that is about it! Whist people around me are festive and cheerful, I am not feeling the spirit or doing anything willingly at all. The other confusing factor is that during this week there have been five birthdays, so the focus on birthday things rather than Christmas gifts has taken my mind even further away from what I should be doing...argh! Never mind, I work well under pressure and it will all get done in time - just.

Number 10 blocking Humanist marriages..

Just read this report which states number 10 are intervening to block the recognition of humanist marriages - interesting read, and puts my own plans for next year in flux somewhat!

Festive Lights.

Hello all, and a happy December to you! We had a good weekend, doing the first of our Christmas Fayres at a local school, even though the festive season still seems a long way off, the feelings of winter and everything it brings are well upon us. On Saturday the town Christmas lights were turned on and we went up to see the big event, it was surprisingly warm weather-wise but with a cup of mulled wine in hand out in the dark town square it felt very festive. Now it is December, preparations will be happening all over the place, we have another Christmas Fayre in the lovely town of Much Wenlock this coming Saturday - an early start, set up at 6.30am! I will be looking forward to chatting with customers, drinking hot chocolate and generally felling the glow of Yule approaching.
