Night walk

Hi, just had a lovely night walk back from a friend's house, totally quiet, fragrant too - roses, honeysuckle and mown grass, just beautiful. Just the lightest of breezes to cool things down a bit, supposed to be hotter again tomorrow though - boo. Anyway, onwards with some work!

Loud night in Ludlow

I am aware that for some reason football turns normally sane people into fighting, shouting idiots but last night was ridiculous. At one point I felt like shouting out of my window to the group of shrieking women outside the pub up the road to either get on with killing each other or kindly move along...thought better of it though.

The problem with being up during the night is that for a lot of it - especially at the weekend - the peace is gone until about 2am, after that I can enjoy my time a bit more until I go to bed in the early hours, btw the dawn chorus started at about 3.30am this morning I think, beautiful!

Thunder!

Yesterday we had the most amazing thunder storm. It went dark and humid then the rumblings began, then the flashes of lightening, then torrential rain - and I mean torrential! I feel empowered by a good storm, the smell and energy in the air, the freshness afterwards all add up to my favourite kind of weather, closely followed by snow, at least I have a weather-love for winter and summer!
Anyway, with the cooler air I have found it easier to work, washing done, ironing left to do though, off to cook tea now before sitting down with Springwatch later.

Cold!

Not the shivery type, but the germy one - yes, I have a cold during the warmest weather of the year so far...typical! My usual nightly activities are vastly slowed due to the swimmy head, sore throat and cough that attacks me every tiem I try to do anything. I shall watch nighttime telly and not do much else I think...bah.

Anyway, off to make some lemon and honey and to wallow in self=pity a bit. Hope you are all much more healthy that I am!

Dentist

So I've been to the dentist...what an experience. Don't get me wrong, I go every 6 months or so but this was the first time with the new guy. He had a cursory poke abut and muttered that I was doing fairly well but then started the hard sell - how about some enamel veneers? We can replace those fillings, I come from a cosmetic background... I couldn't bring myself to comment that his teeth were not a good advert for this! Anyway, after nearly passing out when he told me the 'enamel veneers' would cost roughly £500 per tooth I left.
Motto for life, if it ain't broke dont fix it!

Hopefully bug-free now, had to stop posting fo r a while as I had some kind of nasty, viru-thingy, but everything looks normal now! Glad to be back.
